A macro shot of red berries on an American barberry bush. This bush also has thorns in the midst of the green leaves. When the leaves drop off in the winter, leaving the thorns and red berries, it reminds me of the crown of thorns put upon Jesus' head and the drops of blood He shed on our behalf. I actually made a mini crown of thorns from parts of a barberry bush.
